Happy Valentine's Day! DH and I didn't really do anything this year as far as spending money goes since we are in the process of buying our first home (YAY!), and I have felt pretty narly also. It must be something about the 9 week/10 week mark because others have told me that's when the nausea and pukiness is the worst. I guess they were right. But we have enjoyed just hanging out together today. :)
Also, we thought it would be fun to fill out a Valentine's Survey separately, then compare the answers. I was very surprised at how similar some of our answers were. :D It was so much fun I thought I would share it with you. I found the survey on a random blog yesterday.
What couple from a movie or TV show are you most like?:
Sara: Hmm...I think we are a lot like the couple from A Walk to Remember...or maybe the one in You’ve Got Mail. :)
Paul: Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan
Do you have a song?:
Sara: Yes!
Paul: Yes
What is it?:
Sara: “Look After You” by The Fray
Paul: "I'll look after you" by the Fray
First movie you saw together in the theatre:
Sara: With friends, we watched Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Alone, I can’t remember...something like Transformers I think.
Paul: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Sara: He did!
Paul: Me! =D
Where do you eat out at most as a couple?
Sara: We don’t eat out much. We love Red Lobster though. :)
Paul: Red Lobster
Who is better at handling money?
Sara: I’d say him for sure, but I’m getting better.
Paul: Me :)
What was the first meal that your wife ever cooked for you?
Sara: The first meal I ever cooked for him was when we were dating. I came back from Mexico and threw him an awesome birthday party with friends, but before seeing friends I cooked a romantic authentic Mexican dinner. :) As his wife, I don’t remember the first.
Paul: Bowtie Pasta with Chicken Alfredo and Asparagus
If your spouse was a cartoon character, which one would he/she be?
Sara: I’d say Mickey Mouse. :-P
Paul: Smurfette
How many boyfriends/girlfriends did your spouse have before you?
Sara: Maybe 2, depending on how you define it, but technically just 1.
Paul: 3 (that I know of, haha)
What is your idea of a perfect date?
Sara: I’ve always wanted to eat dinner on the beach and wear a gorgeous white sundress. But for any time, something adventurous or romantic or both.
Paul: hmm, surprising Sara with a wonderful massage, manicure and pedicure. Dining at a 5 star restaurant with a 3 course meal, then watching the final Harry Potter movie (with no nude scene) with popcorn (extra butter) and soft drinks. Followed by a long, slow walk down a beautiful beach. =D
What physical feature first attracted you to your spouse?
Sara: It was his heart that attracted me to him first before anything. It wasn’t until a lot later I was attracted to him physically, even though he was super cute.
Paul: Her eyes, followed closely by her smile.
Where was your first date?
Sara: Well, our first non-official date was to the zoo. Our first real date was to Johnny Carinos, a movie (Harry Potter and Order of the Pheonix), and Starbucks.
Paul: Johnny Carinos
What is your spouses favorite show?
Sara: He doesn’t watch t.v. that much. I’d say anything with football or sports. He likes Man vs. Wild and Mythbusters. Anything manly, lol.
Paul: Iron Chef on Food Network
What is your favorite show?
Sara: Iron Chef America!
Paul: LSU football!!!
What is your dating anniversary?
Sara: Official = July 14th, 2007
Paul: July 14th
If you could go anywhere on a second honeymoon, where would you go?
Sara: We both really want to go to Ireland/Scotland.
Paul: Ireland
What surprised you about your spouse after marriage?
Sara: Nothing really surprised me about him. What you see is what you get with Paul. He is the easiest person to live with!
Paul: Just how much she really loved me. When I deployed after we got married, she wrote me a letter every single day I was gone. :)
What's the best thing about being married to your spouse?
Paul: BEING LOVED! The fulfillment she gives me in life. Going through life single, I believe, lacks the companionship of sharing intimate times and “milestones” throughout life with someone. The joys we are able to share together: having our first child, buying our first home.

Awww, this was so fun to read and learn more about you. It sounds like you have a wonderful husband. I was impressed at how many you had that were the same! How sweet of you to write him a letter for every day that he was gone!
