baby update - week 14...

I am now 14 weeks (and 4 days along), or 4 months pregnant! I am finally in the second trimester. I can't believe how quickly this time is going by. I am already SO ready for our little lovie to be here. It's kinda boring just having him/her in my stomach. I can't see baby or hold baby or smile at baby yet! How I'm supposed to wait another 6-ish months, I don't know, haha.

DH and I have finally decided on our baby furniture for the nursery! Since my Mom got us a changing table for free from a friend, we have been looking for something to match. The changing table came from Target, but that particular set had been discontinued. However, we found another set that will go perfectly with it, and the price is unbelieveable. Here is a picture of the crib and dresser (the changing table is no longer online):

Oh I just love it! We are going to wait to order the set for about another month, once we are into the new house.

So how is Baby Lovie doing?

This week, baby is the size of a large lemon, about 3 1/2 inches!

Baby lovie is now able to wiggle his/her toes and suck on a tiny little thumb! Baby is also producing urine and breathing amniotic fluid. The liver, spleen, and kidneys are still developing. Lanugo (the thin, downy hair) is now covering all of baby to keep him or her warm, though this will slowly disappear before birth. Baby can now squint, frown, and maybe smile a tiny bit as facial muscles develop. Finally, Baby Lovie is punching and kicking a lot, but I won't be able to feel those kicks for several more weeks.

And how am I doing? Feeling pretty good! I am definitely not as tired as I was, though there are still many days I need a long nap. But at least DH doesn't have to do all of the cleaning, laundry, and cooking (bless his heart) now! I can definitely feel my body changing also. I don't think I feel baby moving yet, but I sure do feel my hips stretching, thanks to the continuous cramping in my back. DH has give me LOTS of back rubs lately. I don't know WHAT I'd do without him!

No new cravings right now. Still ice-cold Coca-Cola, yuuummm. But thanks to the recommendation of a great friend, I've been drinking only caffeine-free Coke now! Still love the burgers too. Other than that, I've been eating about the same as before.

Finally, we had an awesome time on our camping trip! I will do another blog post about it soon. Hope everyone is doing well! God bless. +

Okay, I feel very lifted up this morning! You called me a great friend! :D *blushes*
I was thinking about you off and on all weekend and this week. I'm glad to read that you guys had fun camping!! :) I can't wait to read more about it.
I remember feeling my hips spread (and in case anyone tells you they never go back, they do... Just not all the way.) And you might be able to feel little bits of Loveis movements... Just sometimes you don't recognize what they are. Or at least I didn't.
Love you darling, have a great one! :)

Love the set, very nice! Sounds like you are doing great, and yes, the second trimester is the time you feel your best, love it now while you can! :)

Adoring your furniture choices! Do you follow the size of your baby on babycenter? With my daughter my friends called her the "little lentil" forever, because I had mentioned the size she was one week. Even after I moved, I'd get emails: How's the little lentil? :-)
